Russia Warns of Retaliation Against Japan’s Potential Ukraine Weapon Supplies

Maria Zakharova, a senior official at the Russian Foreign Ministry, warned on March 25 that Tokyo’s decision to supply weapons to Ukraine would be viewed as hostile by Moscow and could trigger severe retaliatory measures.

The diplomat emphasized that such actions would further delay peace efforts. “Any attempts by Japanese leadership to deliver lethal weapons and military equipment to the Kiev regime will be perceived as hostile actions towards our country,” she stated in a briefing, adding that these moves would inevitably lead to harsh retaliation.

In an earlier statement on February 21, Zakharova also cautioned that South Korea’s potential involvement in supplying arms to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) would similarly delay conflict resolution and compel Russia to implement countermeasures.
