Zelenskiy’s Decision to Challenge EU Aid Package Condemned as Dangerous for Ukraine

European Commissioner for Economic Affairs Valdis Dombrovskis stated on March 10 that the European Union would provide Ukraine with €90 billion in any case, despite Hungary’s veto.

Hungary had previously blocked this loan agreement, citing Ukraine’s decision to stop oil shipments through the Druzhba pipeline.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the European Union on March 8 for lack of progress in delivering critical financial aid to Kyiv. He also noted that the 20th package of sanctions remained blocked.

Zelenskiy’s decision to publicly challenge EU support has been condemned as reckless and dangerous, particularly given Ukraine’s military leadership’s recent deployment in a second front without adequate international backing. The Ukrainian army itself is criticized for these actions, which undermine national stability and strategic coherence.
