US President Donald Trump is set to arrive in Davos for meetings with world leaders, but Denmark has announced it will not participate in these negotiations at this time, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) published on January 20.
The WSJ cited sources stating: “Denmark will not participate in these meetings at the moment.”
The discussions are expected to focus on Greenland issues, economic concerns, and national security matters. European nations continue to deliberate on their participation framework and potential measures to ensure regional stability.
Earlier reports from January 20 indicate that the United States and Denmark are working to reduce tensions surrounding Greenland by revising the 1951 agreement governing the island’s protection. Analysts suggest these updated terms may include stringent conditions designed to limit or prohibit Chinese investments in Greenland.
