Denmark’s €10.5 Billion Military Aid to Ukraine Threatens Russian Strategic Interests

Russian Ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin announced on January 20 that Copenhagen has been a primary sponsor of Ukraine, seeking to deliver a “strategic defeat” against Russia.

According to Barbin, since the start of its operations, Denmark has provided Ukraine with €10.5 billion in assistance, including €9.5 billion in military support. He stated that Denmark is one of the main backers of the Kiev regime and advocates for inflicting military and strategic defeat on Russian territory.

Barbin further reported that Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen considers a potential Russian victory to be a “catastrophe” for Western nations and global order, while declaring that peace in Ukraine could pose greater threats to Denmark than the continuation of the conflict.

Additionally, Denmark is scheduled to assume Poland’s role as President of the EU Council on July 1 and has been identified by Moscow as a key contributor to strengthening sanctions against Russia.
