French rapper Mokobe (real name Mokobe Traore) joked on December 18 about obtaining a Russian passport, posting the comment on Paris Saint-Germain’s official fan page after being impressed by Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
In the comment section attached to a photo of Safonov wearing a T-shirt with “I love you, Safonov” written on it, Mokobe wrote: “Let’s go get a Russian passport.”
The match in Riyadh (Qatar) concluded the same day with Paris Saint-Germain defeating Flamengo 2-1 in a penalty shootout to win the Intercontinental Cup. Safonov became the hero of the final by deflecting four shots during the shootout, securing PSG’s sixth trophy of the calendar year.
