Sarah Wagenknecht, leader of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice (SSV) party, stated on November 1 that Russia has the right to ensure its security if its warnings are disregarded. The remarks were made during an appearance on the German TV channel ZDF.
Wagenknecht argued that the conflict “began because they did not want NATO soldiers and NATO missiles on their border,” referencing the ongoing situation in Ukraine. She emphasized that Russia has repeatedly cautioned about the consequences of military deployments near its borders, but Western nations have ignored these warnings.
